PHOENIX and F-PHOENIX DBM® blend

PHOENIX® and F-PHOENIX DBM® combined bone allografts combine mineralized bone grafts and demineralized bone fibers for complete bone remodeling.

The osteoinductive effect of the fibers reinforces the osteoconductive effect of the grafts, guaranteeing rapid, effective bone reconstruction.

Discover

The benefits

At TBF, we design our graft products with a constant focus on quality, safety and clinical performance. Each graft is prepared according to rigorous processes, scientifically validated and compliant with the most stringent regulatory requirements.

Double effect

Combining osteoinductive and osteoconductive effects for optimized reconstruction and bone remodeling of the recipient site.

Unique treatment processes

TBF’s exclusive PHOENIX ® and F-PHOENIX DBM ® combined allograft bone grafts.

Proof of effectiveness

The effect of F-PHOENIX DBM ® is controlled and guaranteed for each batch by the systematic PAL functional test, which measures alkaline phosphatase.

A unique production process & under control

PHOENIX® + F-PHOENIX DBM® is a combination of PHOENIX® mineralized bone powder or chips and F-PHOENIX DBM® demineralized bone fibers. This mixture is made after freeze-drying and before final sterilization. DBM functionality checks are also carried out on this product. Production takes place in ISO6 & ISO7 controlled atmosphere zones.

  1. Preparing the DBM matrix

Use of femoral head neck or long bone to obtain cortical bone rich in BMP osteoinductive proteins.

  2. Mechanical and chemical treatments

Viral, bacterial and fungal inactivation with successive baths of ethanol, chloroform, then hydrogen peroxide H₂O₂ (hydrogen peroxide) and finally hydrochloric acid HCl (concentration of 0.6 mol for 24 h). This last bath demineralizes the cortical bone, releasing hydroxyapatite crystals as well as BMP growth factors and obtaining demineralized bone fibers that contain less than 5% calcium.

  3. Grinding

    Translucent, sticky fibers after rehydration.

  4. Lyophilization

In order to dehydrate bone tissue in depth in a reproducible way, guaranteeing long-term preservation of bone tissue characteristics at room temperature.

  5. PHOENIX®+ F-PHOENIX DBM® blend

Combination of 70% PHOENIX® mineralized bone powder or chips and 30% F-PHOENIX DBM® demineralized bone fiber.

  6. Gamma radiosterilization

This process, with its narrow sterilization range (maximum 32 kGy), preserves the biological and structural quality of bone and DBM, while enabling effective sterilization to ISO11137 standards.

  7. Final release and storage

Shelf life of 5 years at room temperature. Throughout the F-PHOENIX DBM ® process, several control steps are carried out to ensure that each PHOENIX® graft meets TBF requirements before release.

  8. Osteo-Induction guaranteed

During the process, each graft is subjected to rigorous controls in line with TBF standards, including a systematic functional test for Alkaline Phosphatase (PAL), an enzyme produced by differentiated osteoblasts in contact with DBM. This assay confirms the osteoinductive effect of the mixtures.
